Gigue Production continues its mission to bring the best of the Turkish alternative scene to London audiences with Sync The Culture. The next event in the series features a special performance by Istanbul-based multi-instrumentalist, trumpeter, singer-songwriter, and producer Dilan Balkay on Friday, February 21st, at Folklore, Hoxton.
Renowned for her trumpet skills and dynamic artistry, Dilan has collaborated with Turkey’s leading alternative musicians and performed songs from her celebrated debut album KUYU at festivals and venues across Turkey. With her second album set to release in spring 2025, she brings a unique blend of soulful melodies and vibrant energy to the stage.

Dilan Balkay is a multi-instrumentalist, singer-songwriter and producer. She began playing the trumpet at the age of 9. After performing with various orchestras, she started playing on the streets with Farfara Istanbul, an ethnic music band, in 2013.
Since 2016, she has contributed to the concerts and recordings of Turkey’s prominent alternative musicians, including Dolu Kadehi Ters Tut, Ozbi, Gaye Su Akyol, Canozan, Nova Norda, Sedef Sebüktekin, Evrencan Gündüz, Peyk, and others. She has been an active band member of Dolu Kadehi Ters Tut since 2018, playing the trumpet, providing backing vocals, and performing on the keyboard.
She has released numerous singles and collaborations since 2019. In October 2021, she released her debut album, KUYU.
She has performed songs from KUYU at various festivals and venues across Turkey. Additionally, she participated in the Jerusalem Jazz Festival in July 2022 and the Mannheim Enjoy Jazz Festival in October 2023. She is currently working on her second album, scheduled for release in spring 2025.
